Join nationally renowned economist Michael Shuman, author of “Put Your Money Where Your Life Is”, and “The Local Economy Solution”, for an inspiring appearance (via Zoom) to Durango.
Shuman is an appreciated economist, attorney, author, and entrepreneur, and a leading visionary on community economics. He is Director of Local Economy Programs for Neighborhood Associates Corporation, and an Adjunct Professor at Bard Business School in New York City. He is credited with being one of the architects of the 2012 JOBS Act and dozens of state laws overhauling securities regulation of crowdfunding.
Shuman will explain the risks and returns involved with local investing, and how any community can get started. He will also suggest some policies the city and county might initiate to accelerate local investing as a stimulus for jump starting the economy from COVID-19 shutdowns.
