Explore the Hidden Wonders of the National Parks!
An interactive storytime for kids
Maria’s Bookshop
Tuesday, July 10 at 10 am
Join Maria’s Bookshop for an exciting interactive adventure through the national parks with local author Kate Siber! You’ll learn about some of the coolest creatures, plants and wild wonders of these protected areas, from the sputtering volcanoes of Hawaii to the misty blue peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Kids can participate in games and activities (with prizes!) and share what they know about these remarkable lands in celebration of the publication of Siber’s new children’s book, National Parks of the U.S.A., a large-format, illustrated, non-fiction title for kids ages 5-10. After the festivities, there will be an opportunity to have your book signed. All ages welcome.
About the Book: In NATIONAL PARKS OF THE U.S.A., discover the beauty and diversity of America’s great outdoors! On this adventurous tour of the country’s most iconic national parks, readers will paddle Florida’s river-laced Everglades, travel down the white water rapids of the Grand Canyon, trek across the deserts of Death Valley and scale the soaring summits of the Rocky Mountains. Packed with maps and fascinating facts about the flora and fauna unique to each park, this fully illustrated coast-to-coast journey documents some of the nation’s most magnificent and sacred wild places.
